An event every week that begins at 8:30 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until August 16, 2019
Kiawah Adventure camp is a traditional summer camp experience designed to get tweens and early teens unplugged and exploring! Campers will find new ways to have adventures on the island! They will learn to kayak and cast net, paddle board, go shelling, do archery and Archery Tag, play water games, get creative, and MORE!
• Ages 8-15
• Full Day: 8:30am-4pm, lunch included.
• Advanced reservations are required.
• Drop off at 8:30am at the Night Heron Park basketball courts
• Activities are weather dependent and may be switched out.
• Campers are encouraged to wear their swimsuits under their clothes.
• Campers must wear shoes with a heel strap or tennis shoes and bring a reusable water bottle/cup.
Monday*: What’s SUP? Learn to paddleboard and explore the marsh, you’ll learn the basics of paddle strokes, then we’ll hit the river on our boards, and try your hand at atlatl.
Tuesday* : Work on some junior lifeguard skills and find out what it takes to be a beach guard. Finish the day with a motorboat trip on the Kiawah River with one of our naturalists. Learn about our resident pod of dolphins and what we are doing locally with dolphin conservation efforts.
Wednesday*: Start the day with our favorite game… 9 Square in the Air! Have some pool time and then head to Mingo Point for kayaking and cast netting- maybe you’ll see some dolphins!
Thursday: Meet your match with Archery tag! Take it to the beach in the afternoon to learn to surf!
Friday: What’s SUP? It’s a paddleboard day! Learn basic paddling skills and then hit the water to explore the marsh and see what nature has in store. Finish the day off with a
trip to the water park and target paintballing!
*Denotes campers will be transported to Mingo Point and back during the camp session, an additional waiver for transportation is required.
