Earth Day Tent Talks: Kiawah Island Turtle Patrol Nest Inventory
April 26 @ 4:35 pm - 4:55 pm
complimentary- This event has passed.
Kiawah Island, hosting between 200-400 nests annually, plays an indelible role as a crucial nesting area for the loggerhead sea turtles. On Kiawah Island, nesting and hatching is monitored and protected by volunteers in one of the largest and longest running turtle patrol programs in the United States..
Three days after a nest hatches, an inventory is conducted by the Kiawah Island Turtle Patrol. We invite you to deepen your understanding of the inventory processes, and explore opportunities to watch an inventory once the hatching season commences.
Tent Talks are complimentary, open to the public, and require no prior reservations. Tent Talks will take place adjacent to the Kiawah Conservancy’s Naturally Kiawah Garden at Night Heron Park. We look forward to welcoming you.
