Located in the Nature Center at Night Heron Park, Turtles’ Nest Art Studio is a great indoor area to relax. Offering unique craft options during open studio, there is something for the whole family to enjoy. Projects include design your own candle, pottery,  jewelry, mosaics, canvas painting, and various others. Kiln projects, such as pottery painting and glass fusing, are available for pick up 2-4 days after completion. Shipping is available. Advance reservations are required for all classes.

Don’t see a class time that works with your schedule? Turtles’ Nest Art Studio also offers private classes and parties. These are great options when looking for a unique birthday party, or to get together with a close group of friends and family.

Class Descriptions


Candle Making

Coming this Fall

Put your nose to work by mixing scents to create your very own unique candle from scratch! Light up your creativity with this hands-on experience. There are a variety of different sized jars and container upgrades are available.

$25/person (upgrades available). All ages welcome.


Canvas Painting for Kids

Kids learn fun techniques from our artist to create a canvas masterpiece!.

$25/person. All ages welcome. Children under 5 must be accomplanied by an adult. 


Glass Fusing 101

Learn how to cut, layer, and design glass pieces to create a unique artwork of your own. This class includes a 3’’x3” tile or a pendant.

$35/person (upgrades available). Ages 12+


Glass Fusing for Kids!

Join us as we learn to layer and design smooth precut glass in our kid friendly version of our Glass Fusing 101 class, no glass cutting necessary. Class includes a 3’’ x 3” tile.

$25/person (upgrades available). All ages welcome. Children under 5 must be accomplanied by an adult. 


Mosaics

Learn the art of mosaics as you create a one of a kind design! Participants will learn to lay and grout mosaic tiles on a 6×6 design.

$30/person. 7+


Painting in the Park

Enjoy a beverage while you create a masterpiece. The unique setting will inspire you while our artist guides you through an acrylic painting project you’ll treasure.

$60/person. Ages 14+


Scents & Scrubs

Coming this Fall

Treat yourself to the joy of creating homemade scented body scrubs, soaps, and perfumes. Learn to mix together a variety of different ingredients and scents in order to make natural body care products that are perfect for you or to give as a gift!

$35/person. Ages 10+


Weaving Workshop

Coming this Fall

This beginners weaving workshop will teach you all the basic techniques for creating a unique piece of woven art. Have fun working with a variety of colorful yarns, textures and designs. Hang it on the wall or use it as a centerpiece!

$35/person. Ages 10+


Wood Sign Design

Design and paint your own wood sign to take home. Practice hand lettering or use stencils to complete your sign.

$35/person. Ages 12+


Private Painting, Drawing, or Weaving classes

Out in nature or in the studio, set up a class just for you or for a group of family and friends! Options include, but are not limited to, learning how to paint with acrylic or watercolor paints, draw with charcoal or pencil, or create woven art using yarns with instruction from our artist.


 

Family Crafts

Join us under the pavilion in Night Heron Park for a craft the whole family will enjoy! Each day features a different craft project including gel candles, tie-dye, stuffed animal factory and sharks tooth & shell necklaces. No reservations required, prices vary.
