Kiawah Strikes Stella Award Gold

This November, Kiawah Island Golf Resort won a key industry award for meetings and group travel. Northstar Meetings Group recognized Kiawah as the recipient of a Stella Award Gold winner as best golf resort in the Southeast region of the United States. Northstar Meetings Group publishes meetings industry leading publications such as Meetings & Conventions, Successful Meetings, Meeting News and Incentive.

Northstar describes the purpose of the Stella Awards are to “recognize organizations from around the globe that consistently deliver quality service and innovation to meeting and even professionals.” Finalists in each of the 18 separate categories are decided on by industry professionals during an open voting period. An expert panel of judges then determine the winners in each category. The judges make their decisions based on criteria such as “overall excellence, professionalism, technology innovations, and other critical aspects of the meetings and event experience.”

This year marks the second in a row that the panel of judges honored Kiawah Island Golf Resort as the best golf resort in the Southeast for meetings. While the resort is clearly proud of this recognition from industry professionals, we’re never satisfied to rest on our laurels. Early next spring, Kiawah Island Golf Resort will cut the ribbon on the brand new 23,00-square-foot West Beach Conference Center, making what is already the best destination for meetings in the Southeast better than ever.
