Tandem Kayaking

Accompany a Naturalist on a guided paddle in dual occupancy tandem kayaks. 

$75 per person. This tour is appropriate for ages 8 years and up. Participants under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Reptile Round Up

Do you know how to tell the difference between a male and female turtle, or how many teeth alligators have? From snakes to gators to turtles, we’ve got them all! Learn the facts about these age-old creatures with hands-on experience, perfect for those older children ready to take their knowledge to the next step.

Family Craft: DoorHangers & Bookmarks
4-5pm | Treehouse Art Studio

Make your mark with art! In this fun, family craft, participants will design and decorate their own custom door hangers or bookmarks. Using paint, markers, stickers, and plenty of imagination, you’ll create colorful pieces that show off your personality and style. This hands-on workshop encourages creativity and self-expression—perfect for artists of all ages! Everyone will take home a unique, usable creation to hang on a door or slip inside a favorite book.

Glass Fusing 101
5-6pm | Treehouse Art Studio

Start brainstorming! Join us for Glass Fusing 101, where you’ll learn how to layer and design colorful glass pieces to make your own unique masterpiece. Choose from a wide variety of color options to piece together your own personal puzzle! Each participant will receive a 4×4 tile to work on, with upgrade options available for larger pieces. Precut glass pieces are available for children, making this a fun and accessible craft for the whole family.

Kiawah Creatures

Join a naturalist on a nature walk around Kiawah’s Sanctuary and explore some of our amazing habitats! You will see and learn a bit about everything nature-related to this part of Kiawah during this tour. From alligators to native plants and butterflies, to local bird species and freshwater turtles!

Stories in the Park
10:45-11:15am | Treehouse Amphitheater  

Join a Naturalist for a storybook reading as part of our Tails & Tales reading series. Children will gather to enjoy a fun and educational, animal-themed story read by one of our friendly staff Naturalists. After the story, they will get to meet a real Animal Ambassador featured in the book, bringing the tale to life in an unforgettable way.

Tote Bag Creation

Create, decorate, and tote it home! Join us at the Night Heron Amphitheater for a fun and relaxed Tote Bag Creation event where imagination takes the lead. This is fit for all-ages. Each participant will receive one tote bag to design and enjoy.

Playdoh Contest
Night Heron Park Stage | 12:45 – 1:30pm 

The perfect contest for all ages to spark some playful competition! This creative challenge will have participants sculpting unique designs to our suited themes. Showcase your creativity and skill in a fun, hands-on way.

Snow Cone Party

Family Craft: Hand-Pressed Clay Coasters
4-5pm | Treehouse Art Studio

Discover the beauty of handmade design and functional art! In this family craft, participants will create coasters from air-dry clay and personalize them with natural and decorative elements such as sea shells, mosaic tiles or a mix of both. Whether it’s a relief or embedded design, these coasters are sure to be conversation starters. It’s the perfect blend of creativity and nature—ideal for all ages and skill levels.

Cookies and Canvas
5-6pm | Treehouse Art Studio

Join us for a fun and relaxed painting class where everyone can get creative—no matter your age or experience level! Our instructor will choose a project that’s perfect for the group, guiding you step-by-step through the painting process so that everyone can follow along and create something beautiful. Since painting builds up an appetite, we will be providing different kinds of cookies and lemonade! Whether you’re a first-time painter or a seasoned artist, this class is designed to be fun and accessible for all. Let your creativity flow and enjoy a memorable, hands-on painting experience for the whole family! Smocks are available, but we recommend wearing old clothes since paint may stain.

3v3 Basketball Tournament (Kiawah Madness)
5:30pm and 6:30pm | Night Heron Basketball Court

Join us at the Night Heron Park Basketball Court for a 3v3 Basketball Tournament! Come alone or with a team to play against the island’s top basketball talent. We’ll get the crowd; you call the fouls! Youth games begin at 5:40pm. Adult games begin at 6:40pm. Prizes awarded to the winning team in each category.

Admission is complimentary, no reservations required. Please arrive ten minutes early to register your team. The youth tournament is open to participants ages 12 and under, while those 13 and older will showcase their skills in the adult tournament.

Beach Yoga
8:30-9:30am | Sanctuary Beach Access

Yoga on the beach is hatha yoga with a blend of slow to moderate pace vinyasa and longer held restorative poses. We work at a beginner to intermediate level and focus on using breath to create body awareness, calm the mind and build strength and flexibility.

Wildlife in the Wetlands Bike Tour
9-11am | Sanctuary Bike Pavilion

A Naturalist favorite: this tour will take you on a leisurely bike ride to discover the fascinating wildlife that inhabits Kiawah’s diverse ecosystems. You’ll gain a better understanding of the beaches, dunes, maritime forest, ponds, and salt marshes that stretch across the island, while learning each ecosystem’s unique characteristics and covering about 6 miles.

Post Card Making
11:30am – 12:30pm | Night Heron Amphitheatre

Join us for a fun and creative postcard-making event. Design and craft your own personalized postcards using a variety of supplies and we will stamp it and send it out!

Shelling Expedition
12-2pm 

SC’s beautiful coastal ecosystem provides a variety of unique and interesting marine mollusks. Accessible only by boat, our Naturalists will escort you to a remote barrier island known for its abundance of shells. Important to our delicate coastline, we encourage photographs and apply shell collecting limits to help conserve the beach and its inhabitants for future generations.

Lego Building Competition

Screen Printing

Get ready to get messy! In this class, you will be creating your own design to screen print on either a tote bag or a t-shirt. Immerse yourself in a captivating beachfront exploration adventure led by a Naturalist. Discover hidden beach treasures, encounter fascinating creatures, and gain insights into marine ecosystems as we comb the shore and drag our seine net through the water. Be ready to get into the water and actively participate by helping to drag the net, engaging in a hands-on experience unlike any other!

Giant Paper Airplane Contest
Night Heron Park Stage | 12:45 – 1:30pm 

Put your folding skills to the test and see how far your creation can fly! Guests of all ages are welcome to design, build, and launch their very own giant paper airplane. All materials will be provided.

Soda Party

Meet us on the Night Heron Deck to indulge in a tasty soda with all your favorite add ins and flavors. Come up with your own concoction or pick one of our staff’s favorites such as the kiawah crush!

Tidal Trip & Dip
2 – 4pm | Mingo Point

Accompany a Naturalist on a guided paddle to a private dune-side beach. While at the beach, you will enjoy some fun in the sun as you beachcomb, seine net, swim, and hopefully see some resident Bottlenose (Tamanend) Dolphins. Children must be 3 years old and 35lbs. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Life Size Game Series: Giant Pacman

Step into the game with our Life-Size Pac-Man event! You will become the characters as you race through a giant maze, collecting pellets, avoiding ghosts, and competing for the highest score. This fast-paced, interactive experience brings the classic arcade game to life with big energy and tons of fun for all ages.

Vanderhorst Mystery
Night Heron Park Stage | 2-3:15pm 

The Vanderhorst family shaped Kiawah Island for nearly two centuries as leaders both in governance and agriculture. Their restored plantation house still stands as a testament to the island’s deep Lowcountry history, and their name lives on in the luxurious Vanderhorst mansion deep into the island.

Step into the world of fiction as you join James Vanderhorst and a select group of his trusted friends and colleagues at his grand estate for an elegant dinner party. But as the evening unfolds, a chilling mystery emerges… and someone among you may not be who they seem. This will be an immersive narrated experience that provides you with confidential clues and backstories, the rest is up to you and your co-conspirators to determine who is guilty. Work together… or deceive the others. After all, you might just be the one with something to hide.

Duck Derby

Family Craft: Stuffed Animal Factory
4-5pm | Treehouse Art Studio

Join us for a fun and memorable crafting experience where you’ll select and stuff your very own furry friend! Choose from a variety of adorable animals and add a special touch by placing a heart inside your stuffed animal, making it uniquely yours. You can also create a birth certificate to name your new friend and remember your time spent on Kiawah Island. This is a great activity for all ages and makes for a perfect travel companion for long car rides or flights home! No reservation required—just stop by and start creating! All materials provided.

Candle Making
5-6pm | Treehouse Art Studio

 Get ready to make your very own candles! Our artist will help you step by step in the candle-making process. Choose from our 80+ scents, either picking out one scent or getting creative and combining multiple. Further customize your candles with our label maker, acrylic paint markers, and selection of wax dye making them uniquely yours.

Laser Tag
Night Heron park | 7:30 – 10pm (Starting June 11- August 13) 

Do you have what it takes to compete on the battlefield? Put your thinking caps on because strategic tactics are consequential! Grab your crew and go head-to-head against others in this fierce match. Aim at your enemy’s targets as you battle through the smoke machines. Hide behind the inflatable bunkers, but be careful not to get hit by your opponent’s precise laser beams. Will you be ruled as the Laser Tag Champions, or will you be sent home?

Ages 7+.  2 Teams of 10 participants. Complimentary, no reservations required.

Teen Glow Bowl
8-9pm | Treehouse Activity Center 

Glow big or glow home at Teen Glow Blow! Teens are invited to light up the night with glowing necklaces, refreshing mocktails, and nonstop fun. Grab your friends and get ready for an unforgettable glow-filled party. 

$25 per teen, ages 13-17, one mocktail will be included in reservation. Reservations required. A 24 hour cancellation policy applies. Walkups are welcomed if space allows.

Inventors Hour

Put your creativity to the test by partaking in this building challenge! Take random materials and follow the categories to build the best creation. No rules, no limits, just think fast, be creative, and see what you can invent!

Snow Cone Party
Night Heron Deck | 1 – 2:30pm 

Indulge in a delightful snow cone party with us! Join the fun as we enjoy delicious treats and groove to the beat! Make sure to snag a $10 reusable snow cone cup perfect for all your summer outings, now available at a discounted rate of $3 for refills!  For a regular snow cone, it will be priced at $5.

Music Bingo by the Pool
West Beach Pool | 2 – 3pm 

Join us at the West Beach Pool for a few rounds of Music Bingo. Try your luck with popular songs from 2025 or rock out to classics from the 80’s. Fun for the whole family! First round begins at 2pm.

Family Survivor
2-4pm | Night Heron Park Stage

2 hours, 10 families, 1 survivor. Can you out-wit, out-play, and out-last to come out on top? Join us at the Night Heron Park stage for a new and improved Survivor showdown. Test your family’s strengths, smarts, and teamwork in a fast-paced competition. The tribe has spoken, game on!

Tidal Trip & Dip
2-4pm | Mingo Point

Accompany a Naturalist on a guided paddle to a private dune-side beach. While at the beach, you will enjoy some fun in the sun as you beachcomb, seine net, swim, and hopefully see some resident Bottlenose (Tamanend) Dolphins. Children must be 3 years old and 35lbs. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

$75 per person. Reservations are required, please call 843.768.6001. 48-hour cancellation policy. This tour is appropriate for ages 3 years and up. Wear shoes that are secure on your feet and can get wet (i.e. Teva-like sandals, aqua socks, old sneakers). Please no flip-flops. A hat, water bottle and sunglasses are recommended. Participants under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Craft: Tie Dye
4-5pm | Treehouse Art Studio

 Get ready for some colorful fun with our Tie Dye Workshop! Join us for an exciting family craft session where you’ll create your very own tie-dye shirt or towel featuring the traditional Kiawah logo. Choose from a vibrant rainbow spectrum of colors to make your shirt uniquely yours! No experience is needed—just bring your creativity and let the colors flow. Whether you’re making a shirt for yourself or as a gift, you’ll love the hands-on experience of designing your own wearable art.

$25 per shirt. $35 per towel. All ages are welcome. No reservation required. 

Glass Fusing 101
5-6pm | Treehouse Art Studio

Start brainstorming! Join us for Glass Fusing 101, where you’ll learn how to layer and design colorful glass pieces to make your own unique masterpiece. Choose from a wide variety of color options to piece together your own personal puzzle! Each participant will receive a 4×4 tile to work on, with upgrade options available for larger pieces. Precut glass pieces are available for children, making this a fun and accessible craft for the whole family.

Bingo and Brains
Treehouse Amphitheatre | 5 – 6pm 

Trivia meets Bingo in this tactful and exciting event. Fun facts and tidbits add a playful twist to these two classic games. Prizes will be awarded throughout.

Bird Walk at the Sanctuary
6 – 7pm | Sanctuary Retail Wing

Join a naturalist for a leisurely one-hour bird walk near the grounds of The Sanctuary. With binoculars provided, explore Kiawah’s diverse birdlife—from birds of prey to songbirds, finches, warblers, and waterfowl—all in their natural habitat. This guided walk is perfect for both beginner and experienced birders looking to enjoy the island’s rich avian diversity in a relaxed setting.

Neon Night at The Treehouse
6-10pm | Treehouse Activity Center

Join us at The Treehouse Activity Center for a patriotic neon night! Enjoy our cosmic bowling and glow gear while trying for a strike. Glow gear will be for sale to keep the fun going all night long! 

Pricing for cosmic bowling lanes are $125. Reservations are required for bowling, please call 843.768.6001 to reserve a lane. Children under age 16 will be required to have an adult present in order to bowl or golf. 

Mini Golf

Pilates on the Pool Deck
Night Heron Pool Complex | 9-10am 

Start your day with movement and mindfulness. This beginner-friendly Pilates class focuses on core strength, flexibility, and balance, while taking the calmness of one of Kiawah’s tranquil lagoons as your background . Feel the grass beneath your feet and the chirps of some morning birds as you engage in low-impact exercises designed to improve posture and alignment. Open to all fitness levels, no prior Pilates experience required.
