Do I have to stay at the resort to play golf at Kiawah?

KIGR is open to the public and tee times can be made without renting property at the resort. Discounts are offered for guests of the resort.


How can I make a tee time at Kiawah?

Tee times may be made by calling the resort directly at (800) 576-1570 to ask for the course of your choice.


What is your tee time cancellation policy?

Tee times for groups of less than 12 golfers may be cancelled 48 hours in advance without penalty.


What is your rain check policy?

Refunds to a Kiawah Island Golf Resort gift card are provided for golfers unable to complete their round due to weather on a pro-rated hole-by- hole basis (i.e. if 6 holes are completed, the golfer is issued a gift card worth 2/3 the cost of the round). The dollar amount on these cards can be used for future golf or any purchase made at the resort (including room bill at check out).


Do you have pull carts for rent?

Pull carts are allowed at all Kiawah courses, but we do not have any for rent.


Do you allow walking at any time?

Walking is allowed at all Kiawah Island Golf Resort courses at all times of the day. The easiest walking course is The Ocean Course, followed by Turtle Point, Oak Point, Osprey Point and then Cougar Point. On The Ocean Course, carts are allowed after 10am in June, July and August.


What kind of weather should I expect at Kiawah?

On Kiawah Island, we experience summer weather from late May through late September with average highs ranging from 83-88 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters are mild with temperatures ranging from 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit between early December and early March and spring and fall are pleasant.


What is the best time of the year to play golf at Kiawah?

Anytime of the year is great to play golf at Kiawah, but the most popular times are spring and fall.


How long does it take to get from Charleston International Airport to Kiawah?

You should allow approximately one hour to arrive at Kiawah from the airport and an additional 20 minutes to reach the Ocean Course.


Do you have a driving range and can you practice if not playing golf?

All the Kiawah courses have a driving range and practice balls are included prior to your round. If you wish to practice, there is a $30.00 hourly fee to use the range. Practice greens are free of charge.


Do you offer club rentals?

We will be happy to provide you with the latest technology from Titleist in our rental sets, and offer both right and left handed rental sets in men’s & momen’s clubs. Please inquire about reserving your rental clubs when booking your tee times.

Adult rental sets are $85 for 18 holes of golf, and $42.50 for 9 holes. Junior rental sets are also available in multiple sizes, for $15 each. Titleist golf balls featuring the Kiawah Island Golf Resort logo are provided with each set.


What is the cost of a caddie?

There is no caddie fee at Kiawah, but we do recommend a service-based gratuity of $120 per player for a walking caddie and $60 per player for a forecaddie. See caddie services for more details.


Can I request a caddie for a non-Ocean Course round?

Caddies may be requested for non-Ocean Course rounds and are provided at no additional fee if staffing levels allow. We do recommend a service-based gratuity of $120 per player for a walking caddie and $60 per player for a forecaddie. See caddie services for more details.


Can I ship my clubs to Kiawah?

What is your policy related to medical golf carts?

We allow medical carts for any player with a placard issued by a state or governmental agency or a letter from a medical doctor.


What is the busiest time of the year for golf at Kiawah Island Golf Resort?

Mid-March through mid-May and mid-September through Thanksgiving are the busiest times of the year for golf at Kiawah.


How far in advance should I make my tee time?

Guests with a confirmed resort reservation may book tee times at any time for the duration of their stay. We encourage resort guests to reserve tee times as far in advance as possible during the Spring & Fall seasons, as that is when our courses have the highest demand.

Guests not staying with Kiawah Island Golf Resort may reserve tee times no sooner than 60 days in advance.


What is the dress code?

Proper attire is required at all times and is at the discretion of the golf staff. Denim of any kind, shorts more than 5” above the knee, bathing suits, athletic style shorts and shirts without sleeves or collars are considered unacceptable.


How do I purchase a Kiawah Island Golf Resort gift card?

Gift cards may be purchased in person at any of the golf shops or online.


Do you rent golf shoes?

Kiawah golf courses do not offer shoe rentals. However, we do offer numerous choices of golf shoes for sale at each of our golf shops. If you do not have golf shoes, tennis shoes are considered acceptable to play golf in.


Do you allow five-somes?

The maximum number of players per tee time is four.


How far ahead of my tee time should I arrive?

We recommend 20 – 30 mins. Please arrive ahead of your tee time, allowing time to: drop off your clubs, park, change shoes/clothes, check-in with the Pro Shop, get to the practice area and meet the Starter.


Can we play by ourselves?

KIGR does pair players up so that we can provide as many playing opportunities as possible to our guests. The additional benefit is a more consistent pace of play for your round.


Are showers/locker rooms available following our round?

Each clubhouse has shower facilities. Lockers are available at all clubhouses except Oak Point.
