Kiawah Island Golf Resort Operations Update Effective May 29, 2020


The Sanctuary – Projected Reopening Date: June 4, 2020

In anticipation of your arrival, our Service Professionals are working behind the scenes preparing the hotel and taking every precaution to ensure the well-being of our guests. We look forward to welcoming you soon to experience our unparalleled accommodations and services.

The Lobby Bar and Morning Room located within The Sanctuary lobby will continue to remain closed to guests at this time.

Sanctuary Guest Beach and Pool Services
Chair and umbrella service will be available with seating restrictions at both the outdoor pool and Sanctuary beach access.

The fitness center and indoor pool are reserved for hotel guests only, and will operate with restricted use.

The Sanctuary pools and fitness center are reserved for hotel guests only. Villa and Home guests are encouraged to reserve their beach services via the link listed in the Recreation section below.

Retail Shops at The Sanctuary
Select retail stores within The Sanctuary will open with restricted occupancy, allowing for safe social distancing.

Kiawah Island Golf Resort Villa and Home Rentals are now open and accepting reservations. Click here to explore accommodation options and availability.


  • Osprey Point will open for play on Monday, June 1.
  • Cougar Point, Oak Point and Turtle Point are currently open for play. Carts are permitted. Beverage cart service is currently available (9 AM – 5 PM).
  • The Ocean Course is currently open for play.
  • Beverage cart service at The Ocean Course is currently available (9 AM – 5 PM). Limited food offerings are also available (11 AM – 5 PM).
  • Golf club rental is not available at this time.
  • Golf Pro Shops will remain closed with remote outdoor check-in service.


The details below are designed to assist our guests on-island with finding available recreational options to enhance their Resort experience. If you are dreaming about a future stay with us, we encourage you to explore our full roster of recreational activities.

We are currently accepting reservations for bike rentals and beach services.  All other recreation activities are currently suspended. See below for updates regarding pools.

  • Our Recreation team can be reached at 843.768.6001 between 8:30 AM – 5 PM.

Fishing Charters
A variety of fishing charters are available by reservation. Contact our Recreation Reservations at 843.768.6001 between 8:30 AM – 5 PM daily to schedule charters or learn more.

Night Heron Family and Children’s Pools, and West Beach Pool are currently open. 

Pools are exclusive to Kiawah Island Golf Resort guests and Governor Club members. Please have your resort confirmation or club membership number available when you call to make a reservation.

Reservations are required and may be made beginning at 8:30 AM one day prior to requested swim session date.

  • Each family is permitted to make reservations for one swim session per day.
  • Social distancing guidelines between families are enforced in the pool and on the pool deck.
  • Once a reservation is made, if your plans change at any time, we ask that you call to cancel your reservation.
  • For upcoming swim times, or to make reservations, please call 843.768.6001.


  • The Roy Barth Tennis Center is currently open.
  • The Tennis Pro Shop will remain closed with remote outdoor check-in service available from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

The Roy Barth Tennis Center is currently offering modified lessons and clinics. Sessions are $35 per player per hour. Private lessons and court rentals are available. Please call the pro shop front desk at 843-768-2838.

We are currently unable to rent racquets or hoppers of balls.

Clinic Schedule for the week of May 25
Designed to improve one specific stroke for each one-hour session, our clinics emphasize the key elements of each stroke.

Kiawah Dining

We are pleased to offer dining options at several of our resort restaurants with modified services. Below you will find details pertaining to each outlet, including current menus and hours, and whether each outlet is providing to-go orders or seated dining.

To place a to-go order, guests must call the restaurant directly with the numbers listed below. In order to offer the best possible service, walk up orders are not permitted at this time. Guests will not be allowed to dine in resort restaurants or common areas unless otherwise specified.

We are pleased to also offer unopened beer and wine for purchase as an extension of our to-go service. Valid ID required.

All to-go menus will have a 15% service fee included.

Commitment to Cleanliness
Kiawah Island Golf Resort has partnered with the professionals at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as an advisory council to guide our actions to ensure the well-being of our guests and employees. Our commitment includes increasing and monitoring already stringent policies regarding overall cleanliness, frequency of cleaning, and food safety throughout the Resort.

In addition, we are adhering to the protocols set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC), South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), and the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association (SCLRA).
