Spring Break 2020
(March 16 – April 18)
Our Spring Break sessions are perfect for those athletes wanting to enhance their tennis training during their spring break. Each session runs for one week, with training beginning on Monday and ending on Saturday.
Rates for Spring Break training sessions: $600/week
Summer Training Weeks
(June 1 – August 29)
Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy summer training provides programming for all serious players’ needs. Players may register for a full summer of training, or individual weeks to fit their needs. During summer months, we bring in college players to serve as assistant coaches and hitting partners for our students. This also provides students who are approaching high school graduation invaluable insight into the college tennis world, and provides first-hand information on some of the nation’s top college programs and coaches.
Outside players who already have a primary coach can train at Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy without worrying that our staff will make unnecessary changes to the instruction they receive from their primary coach. Our staff is happy to collaborate with outside coaches during their players’ time at Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy to ensure the training we provide complements the principles the players are learning from their coaches.
Fitness programming is held during Academy sessions on the front- or back-end of each session depending on upcoming tournaments and each player’s individual plan.
Summer Training Schedule
Monday – Thursday: 10am – 12:30PM and 2:30pm – 5pm
Friday: 8am – 10:30am
Saturday: 9am – 11:30am
Full Time Academy
January – May & September – December
Full Time Academy provides highly aspirational junior players who school online or have early release from school with the highest level and most individual coaching available. The full time program immerses players in every aspect of a professional athlete’s lifestyle. Diet and nutrition, sleep habits, morning routines, body maintenance, health and wellness, strength and conditioning, technical and tactical development, and toughness form the nucleus of this all-encompassing program. Players participating in this program typically aspire to play professional tennis or Division 1 tennis at the minimum. The testing described earlier in our process section forms the backbone of this program. It provides athletes, coaches and additional team members valuable insight into the highest priority items for each athlete to focus on. Turning pro and being a professional are two entirely different things, and we teach players how to be professional in every aspect of their game.
With the help of Dr. Kovacs, we have set up a hub where professional athletes and their teams have access to our facilities, testing, and the latest in sport science.
Full Time Academy Players Will Pursue the Following Schedule:
School: 8am – 12pm
Tennis & Fitness: 12:30pm – 2:30pm
Tennis & Fitness: 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Dinner: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Study Hall: 7:30pm – 9pm

Kiawah features the newly-renovated Roy Barth Tennis Center, which is within easy walking distance of The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, our luxury oceanfront hotel and spa, and the East Beach Conference Center. Our tennis center proudly offers fully stocked pro shops, racquet stringing and rentals, and matchmaking services.
The Roy Barth Tennis Center features 19 Har-Tru clay courts (nine lighted), three hard courts (one lighted), and a zoned practice court with ball machine and an automated retrieval system.
The coaches at Kiawah strike the perfect balance between fun and hard work, instilling in the kids a desire to be the best they can be. Their dedication and expertise have helped my daughter improve her tennis game to new levels.
