Ride along 30 miles of paved leisure trails and 10 miles of hard packed beach. We offer beach cruisers for family members of all ages. We anticipate selling out of bikes during the week of July 4th. Yoga on the Beach
July 4th, 9am, Sanctuary Beach Access
Join our yoga instructor for this yoga session on the beautiful Sanctuary Beach. A slow to medium paced vinyasa with breath awareness will leave you ready to take on your holiday! No yoga experience is required, advanced reservations are encouraged. $18/ person, call the Nature Center at 843.768.6001.
Tie-Dye and Party on the Pool Deck
July 4th, 1pm-3pm, Night Heron Park Pavilion
Join us for a Patriotic Party and some Tie-Dye! Make your very own unique Tie-Dye design with a patriotic flair and then dance to some of the summer’s hottest tunes with our Recreation Staff on the pool deck! Join in on a hula hoop contest and MORE! Admission is complimentary, Tie-Dye shirts are $17 plus tax each. Pool use is for Kiawah Island Golf Resort guests only.
Sand Sculpting Contest
July 4th, 1:30pm-3pm, Just West of the Sanctuary Hotel
Create a “Sandtastic” Sand Sculpture at this annual event! Prizes awarded for Most Patriotic and Most Creative. Judging will begin promptly at 3pm, admission is complimentary.
The Annual Patriotic Bike Parade!
July 4th, Bike decorating begins at 5pm
Parade starts promptly at 5:45pm
Sea Forest Drive at East Beach Village
Patriots of all ages are encouraged to join in the parade on bikes, skates, roller blades, or by foot. Parade decorations will be available at 5pm on Sea Forest Drive near the East Beach Village. The Kiawah Island Fire Department will lead the parade, followed by Uncle Sam and the Lady Liberty. The route leads participants down Sea Forest Drive, from the East Beach Village, and finishes at Night Heron Park, where everyone is invited to join us for our Independence Festival. Complimentary.
Independence Festival in the Park
July 4th, 6pm – 10pm, Night Heron Park
Fireworks in the park promptly at 9:15pm
This festival will kick off following the Annual Bike Parade at Night Heron Park with many attractions for family and friends to enjoy! Festivities include live music, face painting, jump castles, carnival games, and much more! Food and beverage tickets will be on sale at the park starting at 4pm and at the event. Food will be served until 9:15pm, featuring a cookout menu inspired by traditional holiday favorites. Food prices range between $5 – $15. Night Heron Grill will close for food service at 4pm, bar will be open until 10pm.

Bring your family and friends to celebrate America’s Independence on the scenic oceanfront Terrace Lawn at The Sanctuary. Indulge in fantastic food and classic cold festive drinks while enjoying our All American Band. Children will be able to participate in our fun filled activities and games that will be provided leading up to the fireworks held on the beach promptly at 10pm. A Day Celebrating America
Loggerhead Bar & Grill at The Sanctuary, All Day
Loggerhead Grill will be hosting an all-day Fourth of July Party. Fun in the sun with numerous activities including hair braiding, clowns and live music. End the evening by viewing our spectacular fireworks show. Loggerhead Grill will feature a festive Fourth of July buffet or enjoy grilled favorites for lunch off of our extensive poolside menu. Pool and beach services are for Sanctuary guests only and dining is available for all.

Teen Night: Slides After Dark
July 4th, 9:30pm – 11pm, Night Heron Park
Try 9 Square in the Air in the water, rock out to the latest hits, and slide into our glowing pool for this unique Independence Day party! Admission is complimentary, open to all teens ages 13-18.
Kids Camps on Kiawah
Kamp Kiawah is our day camp where guests ages 3-11 are able to create unforgettable memories with other children their age. Our creative themes and well-trained staff work together to ensure a once in a lifetime experience for each child.
Adventure Camp is a traditional summer camp experience for kids ages 8-15. Campers will explore archery, kayaking, and cast netting as well as crafts, swimming, sports, and survival skills. Kiawah Adventure Camp is offered from 8:30am-4pm. Reservations are required and space is limited.
Camp Extreme is designed for 8-15 year olds in mind! Competitive sports, team building, and more guarantee a day of XTREME FUN! Full day camp, 8:30am; Afternoon camp, 1pm

Turtles’ Nest Art Studio
Turtles’ Nest Art Studio is a great indoor area for guests to express themselves artistically. With over twenty crafts during open studio and a craft of the day offering, there is something for the whole family to enjoy. Kiawah Island Nature Program
Kiawah Island Golf Resort Nature Program offers visitors the chance to kayak, paddleboard, fish, bike, bird, and much more. With ten miles of pristine beach, 30 miles of bike trails and thousands of acres of salt marsh, there is an endless array of outdoor activities on Kiawah.
Birds of Prey
July 5th, 7pm – 8pm, Night Heron Park
The Nature Program is partnering up with the Kiawah Conservancy to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with presentations from the Center for Birds of Prey. Birds of Prey will start off the night with exciting flight demonstrations. Admission is complimentary. Please bring your blankets and chairs for seating.
Fireworks Adult Twilight Paddle
July 3rd, 8pm – 10pm, Mingo Point
See the sunset as you have never seen it before as the sun sets over the marsh. After the sunset, enjoy a brilliant fireworks show over the marsh.
