“Serious Golf…Serious Competition”
PGA club professionals* from all across the U.S., along with three of their members, will tee it up during the 19th Annual Kiawah Island Golf Resort National Pro-Am. The 72-hole stroke play event, sponsored by Club Car, will be held on four of Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s championship courses: Pete Dye’s world-famous Ocean Course, Clyde Johnston’s Oak Point, Jack Nicklaus’s Turtle Point and Gary Player’s Cougar Point. With the renovation to Cougar Point in 2017, this completes Kiawah Island Golf Resorts ongoing golf course renovations over the past four years. The culmination of this tremendous commitment is that every KIGR golf course has now been converted to paspalum grass playing surfaces, providing our guests with world class course conditions at all five of our courses.
The tournament format includes four-man best ball gross and net, as well as professional stroke play. Prizes are awarded to the top net gross amateur teams and professionals also compete for a separate purse. Players will use 75% of their USGA handicap, with a maximum Course Handicap of 18 allowed. PGA Professionals may bring up to six amateurs. The professional’s score will be used for each 3 man team. The field will consist of a maximum of 72 teams, requiring a new course rotation. We will utilize all four courses daily with 18 teams per course. Rounds 1, 2 & 3 will be straight times (9:00 – 11:50) with the final round an 8:30 shotgun at each course.
Completed entries must be received at Kiawah Island Golf Resort not later than February 1, 2018.
Note: USGA handicaps are required.
The Ocean Course is walking only. Caddies available upon request.
It is important that all players understand the new USGA Rule, 14-1b Anchoring the Club, will be in effect and adhered to during this competition. Please review how this rule may affect you or your team by visiting www.usga.org/anchoring.
