Your Sneak Peek at the All-New West Beach Conference Center
Published March 2018
With 38,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces, versatile accommodations, five fully renovated championship golf courses, abundant recreation and premier dining in an unspoiled natural setting, Kiawah Island Golf Resort is already a haven for executives and meeting planners seeking a rewarding experience for their teams.
But this already remarkable, highly-awarded oceanfront resort is about to become even more extraordinary through an island-wide, two year transformation. At the heart of this massive undertaking will be the West Beach Conference Center—a state-of-the-art facility that will begin hosting groups as early as Fall 2019.
Fulfilling the Future of Meetings
According to IACC, the “Meeting Room of The Future” [INFOGRAPHIC] provides access to collaborative spaces as well as the flexibility to adjust room layouts continuously. The all-new West Beach Conference Center will offer 24,000+ square feet of highly customizable space—including a 10,500-square-foot ballroom segmentable into six smaller spaces, eleven separate breakout rooms ranging in size from 340 to 1,153 square feet, a 3,000+ square-foot entry hall and a nearly 3,000-square-foot meeting hall.
The “Meeting Room of The Future” report also illustrates the importance of creating engaging experiences for meeting attendees. With its existing world-class amenities and all of the new offerings coming over the next two years, Kiawah Island Golf Resort provides fresh and exciting experiences for your team.
Providing the Ideal Location
Situated just inside Kiawah Island’s main entry gate at West Beach Village, the new conference center will be in close proximity to spacious resort villa accommodations, the newly renovated, Gary Player–designed Cougar Point golf course—along with its all-new clubhouse (opening Spring 2019) that features a 125-seat upscale sports tavern and 40-seat bar—and a brand-new oceanfront boutique hotel that will begin accepting guests in Fall 2020.
The hotel will feature 150 guestrooms and suites, another 5,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service spa, two-story oceanfront restaurant, casual poolside dining, a lobby bar and club level lounge, adult and family pools, a collection of ten retail shops and a grand boardwalk along Kiawah’s natural dunes.
Delivering Postcard-Perfect Design
West Beach Conference Center’s classic façade will feature an expansive, colonnaded portico and an interior showcasing the warm ambiance of a gracious seaside estate. For all its traditional style, the facility will boast the full suite of modern technology needed to help your meetings run flawlessly.
International powerhouse Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) is the designer, and the West Beach Conference Center is not the firm’s first creation at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. RAMSA was also behind the famed Ocean Course Clubhouse and is also designing other new developments coming on line as part of our exciting new expansion, including the West Beach Village Hotel, the West Beach Villa Check-in, Cougar Point Clubhouse and The Ocean Course Cottages.
