Begin your culinary journey on Thursday evening with our third annual BBQ and bourbon mashup in one of the Lowcountry’s most beautiful venues, Mingo Point. Meet the master distillers as you enjoy their exclusive, small-batch bourbons straight or prepared by celebrated local mixologists. Over savory bites you’ll mingle with some of the south’s most renowned Pitmasters from Home Team BBQ, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Swig & Swine and Kiawah’s own Cherrywood BBQ & Ale House. Dance the night away to tunes from The Bluestone Ramblers, a local favorite bluegrass band.

Prepare to be wowed as your savor this elegant, black-tie dining experience with Chefs Colin Bedford (2014), Steven Greene & Joshua Hughes (2015), Ken Vedrinski (2016) and Ryley McGillis (2017). This five-star evening will feature world class wine selections. Following dinner, enjoy a scotch and whiskey nightcap in the lounge presented by The Local Palate.

Legendary Charleston Chef, Frank Lee is taking over The Ocean Room for an afternoon of exquisite culinary demonstrations. After retiring from the kitchen in 2016, Chef Lee is back to share his favorite recipes and culinary tips. This is a one-time opportunity to learn from one of the best and is an afternoon you won’t forget! Chef Lee’s cookbook, The S.N.O.B Experience, is the second highest selling cooking in the Lowcountry, with signed copies available during the luncheon. Lunch will be perfectly paired with exceptional varietals from Don Melchor.

Following lunch, grab a coffee and get comfortable by the fire; it’s time to put our panel in the hot seat with our fireside chat. Get a glimpse into the thoughts of culinary elite and learn how celebrated chefs have been touched by cancer. Hear from Chef Steve McHugh, James Beard Best Chef: Southwest 2016 nominee and proud cancer survivor as well as Chef Matthew Niessner of Charleston’s famed Hall’s Chophouse and recipient of the 2016 Courage in Cancer Award. Be amazed as you hear from physicians and researchers from Hollings discuss the latest breakthroughs in cancer research, prevention, and therapies and learn of the work Gourmet & Grapes supports and how far we’ve come since the first year.
