Bring Your “A Game” to Kiawah Island
Play Five Top-Ranked Courses at South Carolina’s Premier Golf Resort
Kiawah Island’s windswept Ocean Course will be forever remembered as host of the 94th PGA Championship and Rory McIlroy’s stunning victory. After testing the best in the world, this course is on the must-play list for every serious golfer. So make plans with your partner or favorite foursome to play Pete Dye’s oceanfront masterpiece – it’s the round of a lifetime! A trip to Kiawah is also your opportunity to play four more world-class courses and enjoy dining, spa, tennis and recreation on this spectacular barrier island just minutes from historic Charleston.
Planning your golf getaway at the Southeast’s premier golf destination is a breeze. Year-round stay and play packages include your choice of a private villa or luxury Sanctuary hotel room with access to the resort’s five golf courses and extensive amenities that will delight golfers as well as any non-golfing partners coming to Kiawah. So why not see how you rank on – and are inspired by – some of the best courses in the country?
The Ocean Course by Pete Dye: Panoramic views and unrivaled golf history make playing this legendary course an unforgettable experience. Located on the easternmost end of Kiawah Island, The Ocean Course has more seaside holes than any other course in North America – ten right along the Atlantic, with the other eight running parallel to those. The Ocean Course also has the distinction of being only the fourth course in the U.S. to have hosted every PGA of America major event, including the 2012 PGA Championship and The Ryder Cup.
Turtle Point by Jack Nicklaus: Highlighted by three spectacular oceanfront holes, Turtle Point exemplifies the architect’s meticulous approach to the game. With narrow fairway corridors, small greens, strategically placed water hazards and plenty of out-of-bounds, Turtle Point calls for great accuracy and intelligent strategies. Since it is one of the longest courses on the island, proficiency with fairway woods and long irons is a must.
Osprey Point by Tom Fazio: Osprey Point features 18 holes of intriguing golf embraced by four large lakes, saltwater marsh and a canopy of stately trees. Starting in May 2014, under the direction of course architect Tom Fazio, the course will undergo major renovations, including regrassing the entire course with Paspalum, the salt-tolerant grass that is currently on The Ocean Course, returning the greens and tees back to their original sizes and shapes and recontouring all the bunkers. The renovations are scheduled for completion in October 2014, so look forward to a brand-new experience on Osprey Point this fall.
Cougar Point by Gary Player: With sweeping views of the river and marsh, Cougar Point features a great blend of short and long par-4s, great risk/reward par-5s and extremely scenic and challenging par-3s. One of the most dramatic vistas on the island is the middle of Cougar Point’s front nine, along the Kiawah River. Cougar Point was recently rated “Golf Course of the Year” by the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association and awarded a near-perfect 4 1/2 stars in Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play” reader’s poll.
Oak Point by Clyde Johnston: Located just outside the resort gate, Oak Point offers scenic vistas of expansive saltwater marshes and dense forests. More than any other course on the resort, Oak Point has gone through dramatic changes over the last couple of years, greatly enhancing both the quality of golf and the overall guest experience.
As you plan your Kiawah golf vacation, you can virtually experience these challenging courses with hole-by-hole tours and videos on Kiawah’s extensive golf site, where you’ll find course reviews, tournament history and more about the unsurpassed golf experience in this beautiful natural setting.

Guests also experience the cultural activities and historic attractions in nearby Charleston, just a 30-minute drive from the island.
