Garth Herr, The Ocean Room’s Sommelier has been very busy lining up some exciting events for the upcoming months! In tandem with Chef de Cuisine Jason Rheinwald, Garth will design a multi course menu paired with favorite wines, winemakers and spirits at their peak drinkability. If you have not gotten a chance to attend one of these events in the past, make sure you mark your calendars for the first few Sommelier Selections Suppers of the year!


Tuesday, February 25-

Winemaker for Hewitt and Provenance, Napa Valley Mr. Tom Rinaldi will be joining The Ocean Room team in preperation of this exciting dinner.

Garth speaks up regarding Mr. Rinaldi and what to expect, “Tom is a very reputable winemaker and his 2010 Hewitt Vineyard, Rutherford Cabernet was the #4 wine in The Wine Spectator Top 100 this year! Yes, we will be serving it along with a few other gems.”

Thursday, March 27th

Jake Parrott of Haus Alpenz- Speicalty importers of craft spirits, vermouths, wines and liqueures.

“Jake is quite possibly one of the most creative beverage professionals I have met. Please join him as he guides you through some delicious pairings and we will also be tasting a wide array of Haus Aplenz’ portfolios,” remarks Herr.

Tuesday, April 29th

Co-Winemaker/Co-Owner of Patricia Green Cellars, Willamette Valley Mr. Jim Anderson will be for joining The Ocean Room team in preperation of this exciting dinner.

“Jim is a great friend of The Sanctuary and has expressed interest in putting together this dinner. Patricia Green Cellars is one of the most important wineries in Willamette Valley with a lot of amazing Pinot Noirs and maybe a few surprises,” declares Herr!

Thursday, May 15th-

Kiawah Island Golf Resort is proud to be uncorking our Kiawah Beverage Series. This series of collective beverage dinners will be spread over the course of the year, featuring seven participating outlets that will be highlighting their seasonal flavors paired with spirited beverages.

Thursday, May 15th- The Ocean Room at The Sanctuary features Don Hartford, Owner of Hartford Court, Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. Prepare to enjoy stunning Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs and Zinfandels at this once in a life time dinner with the winemaker!

*Each of these Sommelier Selection Suppers are priced at $125++ per person and have very limited seating, so reserve now!
